In 2003, the US Department of Agriculture Anastassiades and Lehotay et al. Proposed a new sample pretreatment technique based on acetonitrile extraction and dispersion solid phase extraction.The analysis process is : first of all, add the acetonitrile, salts and sample into the extraction tube, After vigorous shaking for 1 min, the upper layer of acetonitrile extract was separated by centrifugation. And then, Pipet some supernatant into the tube contained the clean-up reagent , shake the tube for 1 min vigorously and centrifuge for separation, finally, the supernatant would be ready for measurement. Compared with the traditional sample pretreatment, this method is Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe, to be called QuEChERS method as a result.
The original QuEChERS method is without buffering salt, in order to effectively extract some pH-sensitive compounds, the citrate buffer salt (EN15662) or acetic acid buffered salt (AOAC 2007.1) was introduced into the extractant to inhibit the pesticide degradation. the reagents of Ability Tech consist the citrate buffer salt (EN15662) in accordance with the national agricultural products measurement methods.
